My son has been coming to Impact Martial arts for about 2 months now and loves it. This is a place for him to focus, learn, make new friends and grow! Everyone here is friendly, almost feels like a little family. It's great to see everyone working together and helping, especially the older belts. They step right in and help out with moves when a child may seem confused.

My daughter had her first class there on Wednesday and they welcomed her with opening arms and made her feel very comfortable... she had a great time and can not wait to go back Saturday... This has been all she talks about ever since she came home that day... it’s great that they have that sort of impact on such young people...

Senseis Nolan and Bidwell and the entire staff at Impact Martial Arts Dewitt are amazing teachers and tremendous with all of their students from the young beginners to their advanced adults. The manner in which they teach the kids, not only about karate, but about life is incredible. I highly recommend Impact Martial Arts Dewitt for anyone of any age. Thank you for all you do. Keep up the great work.

My family went to TeamDewitt DOJO for years. Our daughter Abby got her black belt here. Support and personal attention you get here is remarkable. Sensei Nolan address every kid by name and provides support in all aspects of kids development. Encourages kids to talk about their school achievements, asks kids to come up with goals as a apart of wholesome experience. My kid, Abby, couldn't wait to show her grades and loved to write about her goals. When it is time for black belt testing, the support you get here is awesome. It is not just Sensei Nolan, entire DOJO's kids, parents cheer your kid to complete various tasks. I have seen some parents volunteer as running coaches for kids. Your kid will also get an opportunity to be a coach to other kids, which most certainly develops leadership skills.

A wonderful group of people who love their job and are amazing with kids.
We tried out a couple other dojo’s before joining Impact Dewitt. So happy with our experience with them... even a year and a half later!

I've been at Impact Dewitt for a few months now and I can't say enough good things about it. The lessons are fun and challenging and the class sizes are usually pretty small which allows for very individualized instruction. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming to newcomers of any skill level. I love both the workout and the self-defense skills I am learning every week! If you are considering trying Krav Maga I highly recommend going to Impact Dewitt!

Eight years ago, we needed to get our 9 year old son (who was not into team sports) off electronics. Thank goodness we found Impact Martial Arts!! It provided him with structure in a positive learning environment that taught him so much more than self defense!! He learned resilience, focus, dedication, integrity...and many great life lessons leading up to earning his black belt. Master Nolan and his team truly love what they do and it shows in their dedicated spirit. After 8 years of continued training and now a 2nd degree black belt, I can honestly say that Impact MA of Dewitt helped raise my son to be the amazing young adult that he is today!! And that's money well spent!!

Our 11 yr old daughter had her first class roughly 3 months ago. Master Nolan and the Impact team have made her feel really comfortable. We are really happy along with the technical defensive skills she is learning...they are teaching and reinforcing valuable life learning skills. She went from not being sure if karate was for her and just going through the motions to get by...to asking us to take her to karate extra days during the week and being vocal and participating in class! She talks about karate a lot at home, it's been great to see her develop a genuine interest in it!

Do You Snack Smart? 3 Tips To Help!

Very few people snack right, and this results in frustrating weight gain.

An important part of eating for fat loss is to keep your metabolism strong all day long with small, sensible meals and snacks. While it sounds simple to eat a little something every 2-3 hours throughout the day, when you choose the wrong food it actually does more damage than good.

What are you eating for your snacks and small meals? <== This is SUPER important!

If you’re eating the wrong thing every 2-3 hours then it’s easy to gain weight quickly, rather than the result that you want ==> which is to drop fat and clothes sizes.

I have 3 Smart Snacking Tips for you to keep you on track and burning fat all day long…

Smart Snacking Tip #1: Don’t Snack on Sugar

Sugar is a huge problem! Snack on sugar and you WILL gain weight. So when it comes to snacks, this needs to be the number one nutrient that you check. Your frequent snacks should contain very little, or zero, added sugars.

WARNING: many ‘health’ foods have massive amounts of added sugars, which will destroy your results. Items like protein bars, jerky, dried fruit, green juice, and trail mix often have added sugars and preservatives that you need to watch out for and avoid.

Instead of added sugars, your snacks should be a nice blend of protein, fiber and complex carbohydrates.

Smart Snacking Tip #2: Don’t Eat Too Much

What is the size of your snack? It’s got to be petite in order to stoke our metabolism without adding too many calories.

A sneaky thing about packaged foods is that often it gives the nutritional facts for 2 or even 2.5 servings on a package that you will likely polish off the entire package.

If the servings are more than just one then you’ll need to do some quick math. Calculate the total calories, sugar, carbs, fat and protein. Make sure that the numbers line up with your target nutrition sums.

Always be aware of how many servings you are eating in a single sitting. Do the math if you’re eating more than one serving – be honest with yourself!

Smart Snacking Tip #3: Choose Natural and Homemade

Sure, packaged snacks are convenient. But know that you will always see better results by eating whole foods found in nature, or snacks that you’ve made with real food ingredients. Even the healthiest packaged protein bar from the store is going to contain preservatives and additives that are completely avoided in homemade foods.

A handful of raw nuts, a piece of fruit with fresh nut butter, a hard boiled egg, a homemade fitness muffin, some chicken breast on veggies or chopped flank steak on a salad are all better options than any packaged snack.

When possible, stick with whole foods found in nature and snacks and meals that you make at home.

I’m here to help you transform your body (and your whole life!) through the power of fitness.

Call or email today to get started on a fitness plan that will give you the opportunity to do what’s hard now, to achieve the body that you really want.

To Your Success!
