My son has been coming to Impact Martial arts for about 2 months now and loves it. This is a place for him to focus, learn, make new friends and grow! Everyone here is friendly, almost feels like a little family. It's great to see everyone working together and helping, especially the older belts. They step right in and help out with moves when a child may seem confused.

My daughter had her first class there on Wednesday and they welcomed her with opening arms and made her feel very comfortable... she had a great time and can not wait to go back Saturday... This has been all she talks about ever since she came home that day... it’s great that they have that sort of impact on such young people...

Senseis Nolan and Bidwell and the entire staff at Impact Martial Arts Dewitt are amazing teachers and tremendous with all of their students from the young beginners to their advanced adults. The manner in which they teach the kids, not only about karate, but about life is incredible. I highly recommend Impact Martial Arts Dewitt for anyone of any age. Thank you for all you do. Keep up the great work.

My family went to TeamDewitt DOJO for years. Our daughter Abby got her black belt here. Support and personal attention you get here is remarkable. Sensei Nolan address every kid by name and provides support in all aspects of kids development. Encourages kids to talk about their school achievements, asks kids to come up with goals as a apart of wholesome experience. My kid, Abby, couldn't wait to show her grades and loved to write about her goals. When it is time for black belt testing, the support you get here is awesome. It is not just Sensei Nolan, entire DOJO's kids, parents cheer your kid to complete various tasks. I have seen some parents volunteer as running coaches for kids. Your kid will also get an opportunity to be a coach to other kids, which most certainly develops leadership skills.

A wonderful group of people who love their job and are amazing with kids.
We tried out a couple other dojo’s before joining Impact Dewitt. So happy with our experience with them... even a year and a half later!

I've been at Impact Dewitt for a few months now and I can't say enough good things about it. The lessons are fun and challenging and the class sizes are usually pretty small which allows for very individualized instruction. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming to newcomers of any skill level. I love both the workout and the self-defense skills I am learning every week! If you are considering trying Krav Maga I highly recommend going to Impact Dewitt!

Eight years ago, we needed to get our 9 year old son (who was not into team sports) off electronics. Thank goodness we found Impact Martial Arts!! It provided him with structure in a positive learning environment that taught him so much more than self defense!! He learned resilience, focus, dedication, integrity...and many great life lessons leading up to earning his black belt. Master Nolan and his team truly love what they do and it shows in their dedicated spirit. After 8 years of continued training and now a 2nd degree black belt, I can honestly say that Impact MA of Dewitt helped raise my son to be the amazing young adult that he is today!! And that's money well spent!!

Our 11 yr old daughter had her first class roughly 3 months ago. Master Nolan and the Impact team have made her feel really comfortable. We are really happy along with the technical defensive skills she is learning...they are teaching and reinforcing valuable life learning skills. She went from not being sure if karate was for her and just going through the motions to get by...to asking us to take her to karate extra days during the week and being vocal and participating in class! She talks about karate a lot at home, it's been great to see her develop a genuine interest in it!

Do you control your feelings? Or do they control you?

For adults, consistent motivation is a HUGE determinant in success, as is mental toughness.  The difference between success and failure can typically be narrowed down to who works harder and takes the right actions more consistently.  While humans ARE creatures of habit, we are also emotional animals.  Too often we allow fatigue (or perceived fatigue), disappointment, boredom, etc knock us off our path to success.

To put it simply, most people follow this model:

Feelings => Action => Identity

How they feel determines the type and level of action they take on a daily basis.  Those actions lead to a certain identity which isn’t always one of success and victory.

Now imagine if you turned that model around?  How would your life be DIFFERENT if you started from a place of creating the IDENTITY of what you want to be?  Imagine if you created an “avatar” if you will of who and what you want to be?

Imagine if you followed THIS model instead:

Identity => Action => Feelings

You would certainly have a lot less motivation issues.  You would get derailed by disappointment a lot less due to your mental toughness.

Now some people will say that making that switch is tough to do.  Maybe it is, but something magical happens once you start.  If you make those positive changes and start taking positive actions…..you will notice your progress and motivation will grow.  Like the circle of failure from the first model…..the second creates a circle of positive progress for you.

All you need to do is begin.  Create your ideal identity and begin to model your daily actions after what THAT person would do.

Good luck!

Yours in success,

Master Jason Nolan
